Put together five 25 year old guys who have known each other since they were six. Give them a trumpet, a saxophone, sequencers, percussions, a turntable, a drum, a bass and a couple of keyboards and you will get... Misteur Valaire (MV)! How to describe MV’s style? It’s not really electro or hip-hop, neither jazz or rock. In fact, it’s a wild mix of all that, with brass, samplings and beats that will make you dance all night! The band spreads a contagious positive energy everywhere they play and always find a way to turn a simple concert into a delirious playful and festive adventure!
In April 2012, MV launched its 100% electro project: Qualité Motel. In less than three weeks, they produced the album Motel Califorña, which also features fifteen collaborators that were all very enthusiastic about contributing to the band's compositions. Right after its release, the album became a bestseller in Canada. This year, MV is nominated in four categories, including Show of the Year, at Gala de l’ADISQ 2012.
At the moment, they spend the next few months working in a new album coming in spring 2013. With 402 concerts already made in their young career (including 62 with their side project Qualité Motel), the band will be more discreet throughout the coming months, even if they will also partake in some personal projects. MV’s music will be heard in the soundtrack of the movie Over My Dead Body by Brigitte Poupart and in the final act of the multimedia show Ode à la vie, projected on the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, and produced by Moment Factory and the City of Montreal.
We met the guys of Misteur Valaire on a festival in Germany. They’re very open minded, friendly, crazy and their music is very positive and energetic. It kind of matches with our crazy, friendly and gifted Palmer product developers.
"So far, recording bass and Wurlitzer has never been richer. The Power Attenuator allows us to record a full power Drive tube sound without breaking our ears. Can't wait to use it live!"
