Dave Hanson is lead guitarist in folk rock band The Dunwells. Having toured the United States extensively for the last two years, opened up for Sheryl Crow, Mumford and Sons, Amos Lee, performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and had a top 40 US Billboard single, Dave recognizes the importance of using professional gear to deliver his tone consistently night after night. Dave first came across Palmer gear when recording at Dave Grohl’s studio 606 in Los Angeles (as featured in the movie Sound City). “I was tracking guitar overdubs, and we were using a few different heads in the control room - a Marshall, Hiwatt, couple of Fenders and a Blackstar. Rick Parker (producer) suggested using a Palmer PDI 03 rather than messing around with swapping cabs, mics etc. I was skeptical at first but once I heard the tone through the monitors I was converted! It had so much clarity and yet sounded like the amp was being driven through a perfectly miced cab! We used the PDI 03 to track the rest of the session!” Dave is currently writing the next Dunwells album, as well as working on projects with other high profile artists.
"For me, reliability and consistency are the most important things I look for in a piece of gear. Palmer gear allows me to achieve a consistent tone whatever venue or circumstance I am faced with. And their gear is built like a tank so reliability is never an issue."
